# myClerkBook > A private book of account for freelancers, founders and small businesses. myClerkBook is an income and expense platform. Entries are recorded by the user, or read off a document the user uploads or receives in a connected mailbox and confirmed before anything is written. It has no bank connection and no data aggregator behind it, which is an architectural constraint rather than a missing feature. ## What the product does Accounts are open. Behind sign-up: onboarding; books, with up to five on Premium and a switcher between them; the transactions ledger with manual entry, inline editing, recurring transactions, trial tracking, and search and filtering across vendor, group, date, type and amount; groups; document parsing, where an uploaded receipt, invoice or statement or a message in a connected read-only mailbox is read into a pre-filled entry the user confirms, metered in entries returned for approval; Statement Import, which reads OFX, QFX and CSV exports deterministically and spends parsing credits like any other document; the Smart Widgets catalogue with a drag-and-drop dashboard grid; the Smart Insights catalogue of alerts and summaries delivered by email, or by SMS and WhatsApp on Premium; currency conversion across 166 currencies on Premium; collaboration by email invite on Premium, with separate scope and role and an audit trail; self-service CSV and JSON export; billing through Polar; a command menu; and an installable PWA with an offline state.
