This policy describes what myClerkBook actually stores in your browser, rather than the widest set a product of this kind might store. Where a feature is not built yet, it is not listed here; this page is revised when that changes rather than written ahead of it.

The short version
myClerkBook sets no advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking cookies and no third-party marketing pixels. There is no advertising network in the product and no data broker behind it, so there is nothing to place one for.
What is set falls into two groups: the cookies required to keep you signed in, and one analytics tool used to understand which parts of the product are being used. That is all.
Strictly necessary cookies
These cannot be turned off, because without them the service cannot tell one signed-in visitor from another. They are exempt from consent under GDPR Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive and under POPIA, because they are necessary to deliver a service you asked for.

If you block these, you can still read the public pages but you will not be able to sign in.
Analytics
Two tools, and each is a separate choice you control independently in the panel linked under Managing cookies below. Neither is loaded at all until you allow it — there is no cookieless ping and no “consent denied” signal sent in the meantime. Declining is the default, and it is what applies if you never answer.
We use PostHog to see which pages are visited and which controls are used, so that effort goes to the parts of the product people actually reach. It is configured deliberately narrowly, and the settings below are properties of how it is initialised rather than promises about how we will behave.
- Session recording is disabled. We do not have, and cannot produce, a replay of your screen.
- Your IP address is not stored. It is discarded rather than retained against the event.
- A person profile is created only for a visitor who has identified themselves, which on the public pages means nobody.
- Event properties carry no name, no email address and no monetary amount.
- Events are retained for 90 days.

Google Analytics is the second category and is off unless you turn it on. Where it is allowed, the tag is loaded with advertising storage, advertising user data and advertising personalisation all set to denied, so the measurement it performs is audience counting rather than ad targeting.
This processing rests on our legitimate interest in a product that works, and you may object to it at any time. Setting your browser's Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, or blocking the PostHog domain, prevents it entirely, and nothing in myClerkBook breaks as a result.
What we do not use
Named explicitly, because a cookie policy that lists only what is present leaves the reader to guess about the rest.
- No advertising or retargeting cookies, and no advertising network.
- No social media tracking pixels.
- No cross-site or cross-device identity graph.
- No fingerprinting, canvas or otherwise.
- No session replay or screen recording.
- No sale or sharing of any identifier with a data broker.
Managing cookies
You can change your mind at any time, and you do not need to clear anything or write to us to do it. The control below reopens the same panel you saw on your first visit, with your current choices already set; each category can be turned on or off independently, and a change takes effect immediately.
Your choices are stored in this browser only, under the key myclerkbook-consent. Clearing your site data resets them, and you will be asked again on your next visit.
Every major browser also lets you see the cookies a site has set, delete them, and refuse new ones. Refusing the strictly necessary cookies above will prevent you from signing in; refusing either analytics category has no effect on the product at all.

Changes to this policy
This page is revised whenever the set of cookies or browser storage changes, and the date at the top reflects the last revision. When a feature adds browser storage, it is added here when it ships, not before.
